Maggie Advice Again!

Kate, I’m looking at you..

Maggie has been getting this light green edge on some of her leaves lately. What does it mean? Is she hungry? Too hot? Any advice would be great! 🙂

  1. If it had been the ribs in the leaves I’d have said magnesium deficiency, and give her a drink of a tablespoon of Epsom salts in 3 litres of water. However, it’s just the edges, which sounds more like zinc deficiency to me. I don’t know if you’ve got any old zinc nails around the place, in which case bury a couple in the soil around her roots, or go and get a packet in Bunnings, it’ll be cheaper than posh mineral supplements containing all sorts of stuff she doesn’t need.

      1. Well, we’re a lot cleaner, for a start! I seem to have rather a lot of everyone else’s topsoil in my garden – and house!, and some things haven’t done well in the 96kmph wind and torrential rain, but that’s no surprise. Bloody TC Debbie is still flexing her muscles and giving Rockhampton a hard time this week, which means shortages in the supermarkets for us, because the chilled distribution supply chain runs through Rocky. Not quite as big a problem as one’s house under water, I admit, but still, I’m over not being able to buy milk…

      2. She’s a lagger that’s for sure! Perhaps she’s just trying to get back at you for calling her an old cow by preventing you from buying milk. Devious little devil.

Sorry, you gotta laugh, it’s better than crying!
